The Masterson Method®bodywork session
I am a Masterson Method Certified Practitioner. This method approaches the horse with an invitation to participate in the bodywork itself by switching from the sympathetic (fight/flight) to the parasympathetic (rest/restore) nervous system and show the practitioner where the horse's body is holding tension or stiffness. Using the parasympathetic nervous system, the horse then is asked to move muscles, fascia, and joints through range of motion while in a state of relaxation. This allows the horse to release the experienced tension and/or stiffness, leaving the horse to move more freely and more comfortably.
Performance Package (*New)
This is a package of monthly sessions of Masterson Method® Integrated Bodywork specifically targeted to help optimize and maintain performance over the time during a significant portion of show season of the year. The sessions package runs from March to September but can be adjusted to better suit your show season needs. The initial session includes an expanded evaluation and assessment of your horse, including conformation, baseline flexibility and range of motion in relaxation, as well as an expanded health and performance history. Follow-up sessions are then monthly targeted to those areas where the horse needs more flexibility and/or range of motion to improve performance.
Each session will be reported out to you with detailed description of how your horse is doing in areas of measurement, thus giving you a more specific follow-up plan for your horse's next bodywork session but also valuable input helping you make decisions which further evaluation or other treatment modalities may keep your equine partner at the best of their game.
Horses benefiting from this package are those involved in:
* Dressage
* Jumping
* Cross Country/eventing
Pre-Competition Bodywork
This is a focused The Masterson Method® approach, personalized to your horse's needs to enter competition with optimalized mobility, flexibility, and wellbeing. Timing of such session depends on the discipline and type of competition activity your horse will engage in. Schedule dressage or saddlebred horses at least 3-4 days prior to the event. Pre-competition bodywork does not include the usual general assessment or bodywork your horse otherwise would receive.
Raindrop Essential Oil Therapy
Using high quality essential oils, aromatherapy combined with massage is used to help your horse release tension. This is often helpful for horses who need to release emotional tension as well as physical tension.
The Masterson Method® Demo - If you, your barn or equestrian center manager likes a hands-on demonstration of some of the techniques which help your horse move more freely and comfortably, please contact me for further information. Typically, participation during the demo is limited to about 10 people with minimal age of 7 years or older.
